Client Types

Types of Clients I Like Include:

IT/Technology

  • Tech Startups
  • Software Companies
  • Linux/Open Source Firms
  • Web Services

I’ve been involved with the IT industry for over 10 years now. 75% of my clients are IT companies. I’ve written everything from disaster recovery plans to Web service FAQs. I like marketing technology so much because there’s always some new thing, or new use for an existing thing. Plus, I am exceedingly good at selling to a technical audience. We have the same concerns. We respond to the same sales points. See my portfolio (”Who I’ve Worked With”) for plenty of examples.

Alternative Energy, or Alternative Fuels

I admit, this is an industry from which I have yet (as of 2/2008) to get clients. However, alternative energy companies have many of the same troubles as an IT startup. You’re fighting for credibility in a brand-new market. You need an authoritative voice to surmount the VERY high sales curve. There are old standards to break through (not to mention big conglomerates to fight). Lots of information and regular marketing works for IT startups. Want to find out how well it works for you?

Biotech

In 2003, a photographer colleague showed me a series she did for a biotech company working on eye repairs. I’ve been fascinated by biotech ever since. It’s a complex field with a tough sell. My “No More Corporate-Speak” stance is a great way to break through customer objections. Biotech customers like hospitals, private practitioners, etc. need to see your value right up front. Success stories, informative newsletters–these are what you need to break down the wall. I’m happy to help you develop clientele.

Startups

Startup companies usually have a few people doing the work of a few dozen people. Not much time for marketing. What if I could convert your website to a fast-growing resource, which companies would quickly think of whenever they need something in your industry? It’s like an always-on salesperson. And a big burden off everyone else’s hectic day.

If you’re a B2B company in one of these industries, Contact Me today about your writing and SEO projects.

Partners

Web Developers

Most web development firms do not produce content in-house. They either ask the customer for written content, or contract to a copywriter.
That’s me!

I partner with web developers so they can provide a complete website project. They get a writer who translates Corporate-Speak to Client-Speak, tech-jargon to customer sales.

Stop saying No when the customer asks, “And you provide content, right?” Contact Me to begin a new partnership.

Graphic Designers

I like partnering with graphic designers because, let’s face it, I’m not a graphic designer. I’m a writer. I make words get up and dance, not images.

However, I’m often asked if I know a graphic designer when I begin projects. Currently I know several excellent designers with different specialties. That way I know who to recommend, depending on the client. If you’ve got a specialty of your own, Email Me about collaborating.
